In the summer of 2017, Johnson and Jackson also joined forces for FOX Sports’ coverage of the BIG3, a professional 3-on-3 basketball league co-founded by Ice Cube and Jeff Kwatinetz. Martin Luther King’s life and legacy, featuring a matchup between Notre Dame and Howard, Johnson’s alma mater, and the first time the historic programs will meet.
In 2022, Johnson and Jackson will pair for a special MLK Day college hoops presentation honoring Dr. Johnson pairs with legendary college basketball analyst Bill Raftery and former NBA veteran Jim Jackson for top games on FOX and FS1, including the BIG EAST Tournament from New York’s Madison Square Garden. On college football, he teams with analyst Joel Klatt and sideline reporter Jenny Taft to call the BIG NOON SATURDAY game of the week. Over the past several years, Johnson has cemented his role as the top voice for some of FOX Sports’ most popular sports properties. Johnson also contributes to FOX Sports’ NFL coverage for a select slate of games in the booth. The most exciting voice in all of sports broadcasting, Gus Johnson is the lead play-by-play announcer for FOX Sports’ college football and college basketball coverage. Johnson has served as FOX Sports’ lead college football play-by-play voice since 2011, and of the network’s college basketball coverage since 2013, the first year FOX Sports carried national college basketball games.
